Ben is a titled sports physiotherapist (as awarded by the Australian Physiotherapy Association) with an interest in the management of overuse injuries. Since completing his undergraduate training in 2005 Ben has worked mainly within the private practice setting, gaining experience in managing a wide variety of sports and musculoskeletal conditions.
In 2012 Ben commenced working periodically for The University of Queensland as a clinical educator within the Master of Physiotherapy (Sports) program, providing supervision and mentorship of post-graduate sports physiotherapy students. As a sports physiotherapist, Ben is passionate about promoting health and well-being through participation in physical activity and sport.
Over the years Ben has competed in a range of sports including road & track cycling, athletics (middle distance events), cross-country running, rowing and cricket. This firsthand experience has given him valuable knowledge and insight into the demands of training and competition. Being somewhat injury prone in his youth, he understands the impact injury can have on athletes as well as the importance of appropriate preventative strategies and early diagnosis/management.
